Bob Matheson launched our locally-owned family business with the purchase of one load of lumber, mostly Oak and Maple and a single lift of Cherry. Cherry was his favourite specie.
Bob’s passion for hardwood was ingrained from the beginning. So was his vision for the company… to source the highest quality lumber available – no matter where it may be found – and to attend to customers with a personal touch and an uncompromising regard for detail and service – old-fashioned values that Bob held dear.
Exemplary quality and service.
Today, we continue to source natural wood of exceptional beauty and quality from around the world, and, yes, Bob’s beloved Cherry can still be found among the more than 60 species we have on hand – from Maple and Cedar, to exotics like Indian Rosewood and Zebrawood. We house this inventory in our 30,000-square-foot, heated facility. With our combined experience and quality-controlled on-site milling and tooling operation, we provide you with the highest level of customer service and millwork products possible.
And because we maintain such an extensive inventory in our customer-friendly warehouse, it means that we can fill your order promptly.
Above all else, we value relationships with our staff,
our suppliers and our customers.
All of us have been with East Coast Specialty Hardwoods for years – more than 20 years for some. We know and love our industry. And all of our suppliers are longstanding – many of whom have been with us from the beginning. Most importantly, we’ve always understood that the real key to our success lies in building strong and lasting relationships with our customers.
If you don’t already feel at home in our warehouse, we hope you will soon.
